LYRICS Jack D lived a solitary life full of spite and malice He was hooked on speed, fizzbin, pyramid, gin -- anything he could get his hands on 'Til one day he met the queen of his dreams at a 21 or over club And he vowed to turn over a new leaf and win her heart So he cut his hair, bought a suit and a diamond ring Her face was flush as she said "I'm all in"
They moved into a house of cards and soon it was full They raised a pair of wild two-year-olds -- Jokers with no limit to the oh hell they could raise
He folded his hands and spit on the deck overlooking the bluff "Maybe I'll go fish off the bridge today" But no matter how hard he tried to go straight he was soon drawn back to his old ways He called his dealer, The Suicide King, A big blind sonovabitch who looked just like Stallone in Over the Top They used code in case big brother happened to be listening in "Hey 'Ace,' I need some Pinochle, Old Maid, and a pack of Crazy Eights" "No problem, 'Laughing Boy.' Just ante up. And no checks this time!" So Jack shuffled downtown
But as the deal was going down, the cops showed up The Suicide King disappeared like magic, but Jack wasn’t so lucky They threw him into a free cell chipping his teeth on the cement floor He lay discarded with a terrible toothache "I could really go for some Shanghai Rum or Klondike about now" But his toothache grew worse In time the warden had to grab a spade and dig a grave Though he knew Jack D wouldn't make the ascension to heaven, he said a prayer for him anyway

LYRICS
Jack D lived a solitary life full of spite and malice
He was hooked on speed, fizzbin, pyramid, gin -- anything he could get his hands on
'Til one day he met the queen of his dreams at a 21 or over club
And he vowed to turn over a new leaf and win her heart
So he cut his hair, bought a suit and a diamond ring
Her face was flush as she said "I'm all in"
They moved into a house of cards and soon it was full
They raised a pair of wild two-year-olds --
Jokers with no limit to the oh hell they could raise
He folded his hands and spit on the deck overlooking the bluff
"Maybe I'll go fish off the bridge today"
But no matter how hard he tried to go straight he was soon drawn back to his old ways
He called his dealer, The Suicide King,
A big blind sonovabitch who looked just like Stallone in Over the Top
They used code in case big brother happened to be listening in
"Hey 'Ace,' I need some Pinochle, Old Maid, and a pack of Crazy Eights"
"No problem, 'Laughing Boy.' Just ante up. And no checks this time!"
So Jack shuffled downtown
But as the deal was going down, the cops showed up
The Suicide King disappeared like magic, but Jack wasn’t so lucky
They threw him into a free cell chipping his teeth on the cement floor
He lay discarded with a terrible toothache
"I could really go for some Shanghai Rum or Klondike about now"
But his toothache grew worse
In time the warden had to grab a spade and dig a grave
Though he knew Jack D wouldn't make the ascension to heaven,
he said a prayer for him anyway
