Ummm.... this is a crazy song. My dad was visiting, so I had him play a few guitar lines, which I then spliced into a song. (One of Dad's stage names is Nathan "Snatch" Randall.) I got to give Nup a challenge on this one, and went a little overboard...
"since it's the four of diamonds, you can only use four notes in any and all tracks you play.* you can use the same note in any octave, and you can form chords out of the notes you play. but still, everything must use only those four notes (of the twelve possible).
*if it's a drum or percussion track, then these drum sounds correspond to the notes:
A -- kick A# -- tom (any number of toms) B -- snare (and rimshot) C -- tambourine C# -- shaker D -- hi-hat (open or closed) D# -- wood block (or any kind of click) E -- ride cymbal F -- crash cymbal F# -- conga or bongo (any number of congas/bongos) G -- hand clap (or snap or slap) G# -- scratching (any number of scratching sounds/samples)
example: if you chose to use the notes E, G, B, and D then you could use the drum sounds ride cymbal, hand clap, snare, and hi-hat."
It's no wonder he did the vocals in one take and doesn't even remember what he sang.
Snatch Randall: guitar
ReplyDeleteNup: vocals, synthesizer, percussion
Rex: bass, programming
